out of touch
Have been moving & closing the family home for the past many weeks, am now settled into my new home and horrified at how many boxes of jewelry supplies I have (and books, but that's another story), I did weed out 'crappy' beads, but still too much, will have to reorganize it all eventually...looking forward to setting up my new work table in front of my sunny kitchen window, will post pix when done (don't expect to see them for a long time!)

Antique Book Pendant

Using pages from an 1834 Penny Magazine book, I construct a pendant by sandwiching a 1 x 1 inch piece of the magazine (actually a book) between glass, then soldering and adding a sterling silver loop that will work with a chain or neckwire. Each pendant is unique as these are NOT scans, but pieces of history...
See these pendants on my etsy site:

Release the Kraken!!

I made this polymer clay squid necklace to wear yesterday at an author event for the new Wendy Williams book "Kraken, the Curious, Exciting, and Slightly Disturbing Science of Squid"-wonderful book by the way! Author wants this necklace really badly to wear on her book tour, I may have to oblige!
Am off to buy more polymer clay & make more along this theme, squids, other marine creatures...
